CLEAPSS plays a key role in supporting science, technology, and practical learning in schools, and being highlighted in their magazine reflects the commitment and dedication of the entire William Ford community.

At William Ford, we recognise that a balanced focus on academic success and creativity is crucial. While exam results are important, we believe that fostering skills like communication, collaboration, critical thinking, and creativity—the 4Cs—is equally vital for our pupils’ future success. These skills are woven into all aspects of school life, helping pupils thrive in both their academic work and personal development.

We are especially committed to ensuring our pupils have the tools they need to succeed, both now and in the future. Barking and Dagenham is a vibrant community, and we work hard to ensure that our pupils feel confident about the opportunities that lie ahead for them. By integrating creativity into our curriculum, we provide accessible learning for every child, including those with special educational needs or English as an additional language. Whether it’s using LEGO bricks to explore scientific concepts or using hands-on methods to demonstrate learning in other subjects, we aim to make learning exciting and inclusive for all.

Our feature in FutureMinds also highlights our focus on raising aspirations. Through trips to places like the West End and exploring local career opportunities, we help pupils see a wider range of possibilities for their futures. Many of our pupils are now setting their sights on careers they might not have considered before, and we are proud to help them realise their potential.
