Curriculum overviews
At William Ford, we have an outstanding, inspirational and creative curriculum which enriches children's knowledge, skills and enthusiasm. Our motto for teaching and learning is: ‘Purposeful learning, engaging activities,’ and we aim to deliver purposeful learning, via engaging activities in every area of our curriculum. At the heart of our school are our Christian values and we ensure that all areas of the curriculum are underpinned with the teaching of the school’s Christian vision, values and ethos. Through this, our aim is to inspire our pupils to work diligently, act generously and live at peace.
Our curriculum is broad and balanced, fulfilling the requirements and strengths of the National Curriculum, as well as providing our pupils with rich, purposeful and inspirational experiences and extra-curricular opportunities, for every pupil. It is taught in a variety of ways that fulfil our curriculum standards: ‘The four C’s.’ Creativity, Collaboration, Communication and Critical Thinking. Progression and continuity, as well as prior learning are carefully planned for, focusing on key knowledge and skills for each year group in each subject. Below you will find a pathway of progression for each foundation subject, which outlines the subject content, outcomes and progression for each year group, from the beginning of a pupils journey in Year 3 to the end of their Primary School education, in Year 6.
