A hands on experience.
Year Five have been busy this week. On Tuesday, Year 5 were invited by London Design and Engineering to take part in a workshop involving Lego. Our journey took us to the Docklands and we arrived at the University of East London - the children were in awe over how big the University is. When we arrived, the children got themselves into groups - it was lovely to see how each of the classes mingled with one another. Their task was to design an island where they had to survive. Using Lego, they built their island thinking about what to include in order to survive. The children were full of bright ideas such as building palm trees for shade and even using material as a filtration system. The workshop was thoroughly enjoyed by all - they could not stop talking about it on the journey home. We even managed to see a plane take off and land as we stood opposite London City Airport.
