Fish chefs at Billingsgate!

This week Muna tells us about year 5's trip to Billingsgate Fish Market

On Thursday, we went by tube and bus to Billingsgate Fish Market.  We learnt about lots of different fish in the water around the UK.  One of them was the makerel, which is related to the tuna fish.  It has Omega 3 which is good for older people's joints and good for children's brains.  It helps baby's brains grow in their mummy's tummy and helps children concentrate at school!  We tried lots of fish.  We peeled prawns and made prawn cocktails, made smoked mackerel pate, made fish fingers and learnt how to prepare and cook mussels.  We got to taste all the different fish dishes and the prawn cocktail was my favourite, but I did also like the fish fingers.  The mussels were not my favourite, but I still tried them.  It was such a fantastic trip because we learnt about fish and how to cook them.
