As is tradition at William Ford, the final week of the spring term was marked by a joyful Easter celebration, bringing together our entire school community – pupils, staff, parents, and governors – to reflect on the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ, and the hope we have of being made right with God.

This year’s celebration was full of energy, creativity, and meaning. The event featured two beautiful performances from our school choir, a dramatic re-enactment of the Easter story by the whole of Year Four, and an impressive dance piece.

We were privileged to hear a heartfelt Easter message from Joel Edwards, our Vice Chair of Governors and the Reverend of Dagenham Parish Church, supported by fellow governor Tommy Hassop from Becontree Church. Their words reminded us all of the true meaning of the season and the hope we carry into the summer term and beyond.

A highlight for many was the Easter Bonnet Parade, showcasing pupils’ fantastic creativity. Prizes were awarded for the most imaginative and eye-catching designs, and it was clear how much effort had gone into each and every one.

Adding to the festive atmosphere were our brilliant radio station DJs, who kept the music playing throughout the morning. A big thank you goes to them, and to every child who sang, danced, acted, or proudly wore a handmade bonnet.

We’re incredibly grateful to the many members of staff and governors who worked tirelessly behind the scenes – from preparing costumes and props to helping pupils rehearse and ensuring everything ran smoothly on the day. Their support made the event a true success.

The sun shone, spirits were high, and there was something for everyone – including a well-stocked book fair and a Lighthouse-run tuck shop that proved very popular with pupils and parents alike.

It was a day of celebration, reflection, and togetherness – a fitting way to end the term. Well done, everyone!
