Centre of Excellence - Inclusion Quality Mark

We are proud to share the latest Inclusion Quality Mark (IQM) report, which once again recognises William Ford C of E Junior School as a Centre of Excellence for inclusion. This prestigious status is awarded to schools that demonstrate outstanding commitment to creating an environment where every pupil, regardless of ability or background, is empowered to succeed. As a Centre of Excellence, we continuously strive to share best practices and lead by example in fostering inclusive learning across all areas of school life.

The report highlights the strength of our inclusive ethos, describing it as “exceptionally strong,” and commends the dedication of our staff in ensuring that pupils “thrive, not just survive.” It praises the significant progress made in supporting vulnerable groups, with Pupil Premium and SEND pupils achieving remarkable improvements in academic performance. The assessor also noted the success of our Lighthouse provision, which offers flexible, personalised support for SEND pupils, helping them access both mainstream and specialised learning environments.

Achieving and maintaining Centre of Excellence status reflects our school’s commitment to continuously improving outcomes for all pupils. The IQM process involves regular evaluations and sharing of good practices with other schools. By taking part in this programme, we ensure that our inclusive practices are constantly evolving, meeting the needs of our diverse community. The report particularly recognises our focus on providing enriching experiences for all pupils, including cultural capital opportunities that inspire aspiration, personal growth, and future career awareness.
